New for 2026! We’ll be hiking through the stunning scenery of the Derbyshire Dales on a Sunday morning in September. Sign up below.

If you fancy an even bigger challenge, you can join our Chief Exec Lesley as she takes on the Monsal Trail half marathon! Following a similar but longer route through the beautiful autumnal Peak District, you can enjoy being out in nature while taking on a challenge.

Want to do your own thing? There are loads of great ways to raise money for a local refugee charity making an impact in Derby.

Here’s some inspiration if you’re stuck for where to start with your own fundraiser:

Donate your birthday

Your birthday is a great opportunity to raise funds for a cause you care about. Chris did a series of challenges in celebration of her 70th birthday year—from bushcraft to flying! She raised more than £1,800 for our work welcoming refugees.

Organise a bake sale

Fancy a bit of baking? A simple bake sale is a great way to feed people and raise awareness for our work. You could get your kids involved and sell them at their local school, or you could be like Megan, who raised £342 by doing a bake sale at her office.

Jump around on inflatables

If you enjoy a gentle jog, with inflatable obstacles thrown in for good measure, this could be for you! Sara raised £620 by doing the Inflatable 5K race. There are dates throughout the year in different locations—find out more on the Inflatable 5K website.

We’ve put together this guide with 10 easy ways to fundraise. Lots of the ideas are suitable for families, so if you’ve got kids, why not get them involved?
