Join us at the Derby Half Marathon on Sunday 29th June.

Challenge yourself while raising money for our work welcoming refugees.

What?

  • The Derby Half Marathon (Ramathon) is an annual event held by Run For All, in which hundreds of people race for fun, personal challenge, or to raise money for different causes. Visit their website for more info.

When?

  • The race will take place on the morning of Sunday 29th June 2025, at 9:15am.

Where?

  • Derby — starting at Silk Mill Park / Cathedral Green.

Why?

  • Upbeat Communities relies on donations from generous members of the public to fund a great deal of our work. That’s why we’re looking for some enthusiastic fundraisers to help spread the word about what we do: supporting refugee families at all ages and stages through English classes, support groups, community meals, and much more. These projects offer a lifeline of community and belonging for refugees rebuilding their lives in the UK — but we need your help to sustain them into the future.

Who can take part?

  • Anybody who is a capable runner. We would not recommend this event for you if you are not an experienced runner.

How do I sign up?

  • Please use the form below to register your interest, and our Community Engagement Manager, Maddie, will be in touch with you as soon as possible to discuss the next step of your fundraising journey! She will support you every step of the way, so you don’t have to worry if you have never fundraised before.

  • Upbeat Communities will be happy to pay for your place — but we ask that you commit to trying your best, with our support, to raise £150 towards our work with refugees.
